The 70'sFor those of you who don't know 70s very well; here is a brief about that beautiful era that was described as the most colourful and freedom time of the western culture and still has an influence to us until now.
Hippies: started in early 60s and by 70s it reached its peak and was known all over the world as a movement of youth who rejected traditional social values, advocated peace and free love and favoured long hair and unconventional dress.
Some says hippie philosophy is a mix of Cynics and also credits the religious and spiritual teachings of Jesus Christ, Hillel the Elder, Buddha, St. Francis of Assisi, Henry David Thoreau, and Gandhi.
Also the hippies fashion has a great influence on the culture those days especially on music, art, television and literature.
Music: the 70s brought with it lots of famous and great singers, bands and songs as
Pink Floyd, UFO, Queen, Bee Gees, Dire straits, ABBA, Chic, the Eagles...
Also singers such as Elton John, Paul McCartney, James Brown, Bob Segar, Billy Joel, Bob Marley and others.
Greatest hit songs such: Hotel California, No woman no cry, I will Survive, Roxanne, Stayin' Alive, Sweet Home Alabama, Sultans of Swings, comfortably Numb, Stairway to Heaven, Another brick in the wall, American Pie and much much more...
Social movements: in 70s brought a big raise of social movements such as Environmentalism, Feminism, Gay rights...
Technology: Birth of modern computers, start of fibre optics, Pocket calculators, Atari games, popularity of Microwave ovens...
